When and Why did you first start CrossFit?

I stared CrossFit October 30, 2011 after my sister kept “nagging” so I finally gave in and tried a “wod”.  After a lot of, “you should really try a workout with me, CrossFit will be good for you” Oh, was my sister right (don’t tell her I said that) as I did not even finish the warm up! I don’t think Virginia thought I would ever come back. My actual first wod was a day later on Halloween, I don’t remember what it was! But I did finish the warm up.

Why do you keep doing it, what keeps you coming back?

After doing the regular gym for a while, and just pretty much being bored, not going on regular basis nor challenging myself.  From day one CrossFit has been hell of a challenge and you learn something new every time you show up for a class.  Just this month I got my first rope climb and a hand stand. Love the people, coaches, great community. Met a lot of good people.

What advice do you have for those new to CrossFit?

Stick with it, don’t give up!  At first it might seem like there’s no way you can do this, how can I do this?  But you can!  And you will!  What seems impossible at first, becomes part of wod.
